Donating Materials

Donation guidelines are strict. Appliances must be complete and in 100% working order. Dishwashers must be less than 5 years old. Other items must be in good shape, and in useable sizes. For example, pipe must be at least 5' in length. Plywood and sheetrock must be at least 1/2 sheets; lumber in full lengths. For details on the guidelines, see below.

Your contributions are welcome . . . and needed. Pickup of items is available, and every donation helps toward providing adequate housing to those in need.

Completely volunteer staffed, the ReStore is at 8101 Ft. Smallwood Road. To make a donation, drop it by the store, or call the ReStore at (410) 437.7754 to arrange for pickup. The ReStore is open Wednesday-Friday 10am-5pm.  

We accept the following appliances:
-Dishwashers
-Washers/Dryers
-Water Heaters
-Range Hoods
-Range Tops
-Ovens (drop-in or free standing)
-Refrigerators
-Microwave Ovens
We accept dishwashers less than 5 years old, clean and in 100% working order. All appliances must be clean and in 100% working order with no missing parts. We will test them when they are brought in and if they do not work, will not accept them. Please include owners manuals if you have them, as they add value to your donation.
Columns; Antique Windows; Mantle pieces; Porch Posts; Mouldings; Wrought Iron Fences; Railings (no longer that 18 ft)
We will take cabinets in complete units. They must have doors, shelving, display racks, etc.
Must have all doors and drawers and in good condition.
Full kitchen and bathroom sets.
Door hardware/Drawer pulls.
We accept doors if they are in GOOD condition only. They must not have holes, cracks, rot, etc.
Residential only: pre-hung or door slabs (slabs no taller than 84 in.)
Exterior or Interior (no rot, cracks or missing panes)
Sliding gkass doors no longer than 6 ft (all tracking, no cracked or foggy glass)
We accept electrical parts, wire, plugs, plates and the hardware associated with electrical wiring.
Residential electrical items only.
No large donations of miscellaneous electrical stock
We accept fans if they are complete and in working condition only.
We DO NOT accept any carpet.  We will accept vinyl flooring, but NO SCRAPS, PLEASE!! We will accept any amounts of tile.
- Hardwood/parquet flooring (25 sq. ft. min.)
- Slate, marble
- Tile (10 sq. ft. min.)
- Vinyl tile, sheet vinyl (any qty new material only)
Wood and metal furniture; Upholstered furniture (no rips, tears or stains and subject to approval)
We accept hardware for doors, cabinets, etc. Almost all types if not rusty.
-Complete sets of door hardware, any quantity of hinges, nails, screws, hangers, connectors, etc.
-Thresholds and weather stripping (new)
-Good to excellent condition (no broken glass), complete with knobs, finials and in working order.
-No hard-wired workshop fluorescent lights or recessed can lights.
-No ballasts with pcb's.
We accept full and1/2 sheets of plywood. We accept full lengths of lumber. We will accept trim in smaller pieces, but not less than 4 feet long. Please, no rot or nails sticking out of lumber.
-Dimensional (4ft. min.; treated or non-treated)
-Sheet goods (1/2 sheet min., particle, press, plywood, paneling, etc.)
-Trim and molding (4ft. min.)
Mirror and glass is accepted if certain conditions apply. Please call prior to donating these items.
-HVAC Units
-Garden tools
-Gas logs
-Shutters (interior and exterior)
-Hand tools and power tools
-Free-standing wood or pellet stoves
-Roofing materials (felt, no tar)
We accept 4' and over of any type of pipe, and all supplies and fittings.
We accept tubs, sinks and vanities if they are in good condition and clean. We accept commodes only if they are in working condition and are the low flush (1.6 gallon) type. They must be very clean!! We will not take a dirty commode under any circumstance.  We also require bolts to connect tank to toilet bowl.
-Sinks: Wall mount sinks should include wall mount plate
-Kitchen sinks (no rust or cracks)
-Bath vanities (no permanent stains)
-Bath tubs (space permitting- fiberglass, steel, or cast iron- requires inspection; Shower enclosures (no cracks or stains)
-Counter Tops: straight with no cutouts
-Toilets: residential only
-Faucets (complete faucet sets only)
-Misc. plumbing hardware (fittings, piping, etc.)
We accept all types of roofing material such as rolled roofing material, tar, metal roofing, bundles of new shingles. We also accept roofing gutter/canale materials that are in full pieces and are not rusty, bent up or damaged.
We accept all hand and power tools in working condition.
We accept DOUBLE PANE windows of all types if the glass is intact. Most windows will show use, even if they are newer. If they are casement type, we appreciate having the hardware and cranks.
-Double-hung, picture, bay (complete units with sahses, no rot, cracked or foggy glass)
- Sashes, casements, louvered (case by case basis)
-Upholstered furniture
-Clothing
-Non working electronics
-Oil or latex based paints or stains
-Solvent, strippers
-Anti-freeze, motor oil or other regulated fluids
-Mirrors or broken glass
-Shower doors (unless new and boxed)
-Thermostats (non digital)
-Fireplace inserts
-Hard-wired fluorescent lights/shop lights
-Recessed can lights
-Boxes of misc. items
-Hazardous materials
-Materials with mold or water damage
-Window blinds (used, unless wood blinds)
-Glass sliding doors (exception for new items)
-Storm doors
-Storm windows
-Siding
-Dishes, mugs and flatware
-Toys
-Console Televisions
-Water Heaters
-Double ovens (wall)
-Metal Bedframes
-Wallpapering tools, glue, etc.
