Women Build
Welcome to our web page for our Women Build . You have joined an enthusiastic, ambitious, dedicated, sensitive, and loving team with a single purpose - affordable housing for a deserving family in Annapolis, MD. Over the next few months, we will gather in committees,or over a glass of wine or cup ofcoffee with friends and family as we all work toward our goals. We women will raise the money to build the house, break the ground, raise the roof, hammer, paint and do whatever is needed to do the job. Then with great pride we will attend the dedication celebration of the Women Build home and share in the joy of the homeowner and family. Thank you for being a part of a most incredible journey.

Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee, chaired by Karen Smith, Therese Long and Mary Egan, are happy to announce that a third of our fundraising goal of $100,000 has been raised or pledged.
Our first Corporate Sponsor has come in with a pledge of $5,000.00! Central Atlantic Toyota Distributors is this project's first Legacy donor. Toyota spokesperson Fran Seaman said,
"By sponsoring the Habitat for Humanity's Women Build project, Toyota helps make it possible for people to work together to make a positive change in our society. Enabling those who need help to work hand-in-hand with those who volunteer their time and talents opens a whole new world for the recipients. It enables people to receive help with dignity, and it fosters a new sense of pride and self-respect, both vitally important elements in our lives. "
Watermark Cruises has become our second Legacy donor! Debbie Gosselin, this project's Honorary Chair and President of Watermark Cruises, says
"Watermark Cruises is proud to be a Legacy Donor for Arundel Habitat's Women Build project. Now in our second generation of family ownership and operation, Watermark believes strongly in partnering with and supporting the local community to advance the development of the rich culture, heritage and resources found in the Chesapeake area. Supporting this year's Women Build project is another link in the chain of our commitment to the Annapolis community and the wonderful families that make this our home. "
Many, many thanks to these two local businesses for committing their resources to Arundel Habitat's Women Build and our efforts to improve our community.
There's still a long way to go, and we need to do it by December 31st, 2008. We are inspired by your enthusiasm, and now need your help to realize our commitment! Habitat has a couple of tricks to make this rock.

The Power of Ten!
What is the "Power of Ten"? If one woman asks ten of their friends to give at least $10.00 to this project, and those ten ask ten of their friends, $1,000.00 or more will be raised! Each donor will be invited to a "Build Day" to work on the Women Build home and each will receive a letter and picture from the family they are helping.
Will you get a Power of Ten network started? Contact us and we'll send you campaign flyers and an envelope to return donor information and donations.
And, last but not least: Donations from You!
You've promised your time to help build a brand new home for a hard working and deserving member of our community. But we can't swing a hammer without the $100,000.00 to get started! Now's the time to step up with a pledge of financial assistance.
